Next Sunday, Canton Auto Salvage will be participating in the trailer race at Midvale Speedway outside of New Philadelphia, Ohio. Though this reputable establishment is primarily known for being one of the top salvage yards in the region, they also enjoy helping out with local events however they can. Residents throughout the Dover, Ohio and Uhrichsville, Ohio areas who are interested in attending or even competing in this upcoming race will get an up-close look at how Canton Auto Salvage contributes to the local auto community.
Though this won’t be the first trailer race held at Midvale Speedway, Canton Auto Salvage is still excited to be a part of it. On October 2nd, drivers from throughout Dover, Uhrichsville, New Philadelphia, and beyond will be competing in this local event to see which one will be able to cross the finish line with their truck-and-trailer setup first. Unlike other races, drivers have to be careful to avoid other competitors as those who have their filled trailers knocked off are quickly eliminated. Fortunately, drivers are allowed to have a passenger to act as an in-car spotter, which Canton Auto Salvage notes can make a huge difference in the outcome. While the turnout may vary, these trailer races typically feature 14-16 competitors. It’s also a fan favorite among those who frequent Midvale Speedway.
Canton Auto Salvage will be involved in this upcoming race in a number of ways. For starters, the salvage yard will have a few entries in the race. One of Canton Auto Salvage’s own staff members even won a trailer race back in 2014, prompting them to supply vehicles and trailers whenever they have the opportunity. More importantly, this establishment offers some much-needed assistance with the cleanup process. Since an event like this one inevitably causes a great deal of debris, Midvale Speedway appreciates the fact that Canton Auto Salvage brings down their flatbed truck to haul larger items such as damaged boats, campers, and more. Their staff can even be found sweeping up smaller debris once the race has come to an end. Plus, Canton Auto Salvage purchases destroyed vehicles from competitors who don’t have the desire or means to take them home.
Those who are interested in competing in this upcoming race are free to do so. Drivers only need to have a working truck and a filled trailer in order to be eligible. More detailed information about the trailer race including Midvale Speedway’s rules for safety and fair competition can be found HERE. Residents throughout the New Philadelphia, Ohio; Uhrichsville, Ohio; and Dover, Ohio areas are also encouraged to visit Canton Auto Salvage if they plan on competing. Not only can their staff members offer additional information about this local event, but the salvage yard often has junk vehicles and parts available.
