E.F. Boyd & Son Funeral Home wants to see you tonight at the 10th Annual Minority Men’s Health Fair at Cleveland Clinic! As a returning vendor to the health fair, E. F. Boyd & Son is well aware of the incredible amount of potentially life-saving information presented at this one day event. Join them on the Cleveland Clinic main campus for an evening of empowerment that will help to you to take charge of your health.
The 10th Annual Minority Men’s Health Fair is today, Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 5:30pm until 8:30pm. The health fair is just one of the events that have been held throughout Northeast Ohio celebrating National Minority Health Month. The purpose of the health fair is to provide information about and screenings for health risks that affect all people, as well as those for which minority men may be at greater risk.
It may not sound like much fun, but there is enormous potential to become more aware of your current health, and what preventative measures you could begin incorporating into your daily routine to help you to avoid certain conditions. Free seminars will be offered on a variety of topics such as prostate cancer and stroke prevention, as well as quitting smoking, general health and nutrition, even organ donation, and so much more. You are the director of your health and wellbeing, and this special event will provide you with tools to take even better care of yourself.
Recognizing the need for this type of information, E. F. Boyd & Son Funeral Home has supported the event for several years as a vendor. Before Cleveland Clinic developed the health fair, E. F. Boyd & Son hosted their own wellness clinic with Dr. Charles Modlin and several local pastors in order to highlight the need for preventative care. If an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, then the benefits of Cleveland Clinic’s Minority Men’s Health Fair are immeasurable.
In addition to the seminars, there will also be screenings available to help you learn about conditions you may already have, from high blood pressure to colon cancer, or conditions for which you may be at higher risk, such as diabetes or sleep apnea. It is impossible to list everything that the health fair encompasses, but your visit there could easily prove to be invaluable.
There is no charge to attend the Minority Men’s Health Fair, and you can even park for free at the P1 garage, located on the corner of E. 93rd and Euclid Avenue. Join your friends from E. F. Boyd & Son Funeral Home (and delay your need for their services!), along with other local businesses and members of the community for this one night only special health and wellness event!
