Calling all poker playing bikers in Northeast Ohio! It’s time to get ready for the 5th Annual Ride for Pride to benefit the Corporal Keith Nespa Scholarship Fund and R.A.W. The motorcycle ride and poker run is set for August 31, 2013 at 11 a.m., and you can win while you chip in. The fun, fundraising run begins at Lehman’s Big Open Road in Dover, Ohio and ends at the Canal House in Tuscarawas, Ohio. You can register at the starting point from 9 a.m. until the crowd rolls on ride day. And since Lehman’s is the best place to buy motorcycle gear and Harley Davidson accessories, you can get everything you need or want before you go!
The Ride for Pride benefit is fast becoming a summer tradition in Northeast Ohio. Started in 2009 to aid the scholarship fund created to honor fallen Army Cpl Keith Nespa of New Philadelphia, the motorcycle ride and poker run continues to grow. For the fourth year in a row, the Nespa Scholarship Fund is partnering with R.A.W., Rebuilding America’s Warriors, formerly known as the Iraqi Star Foundation.
The specifics of this year’s Ride for Pride include a pancake breakfast that will be served during registration and a veteran’s service by Rolling Thunder Chapter 2 at 10:45 a.m. Riders will then roll on to a string of designated stops, collecting cards and trying to construct a winning poker hand along the way from Dover to Tuscarawas. Once the motorcycle ride ends at the Canal House, the holder of the best hand from the poker run will win a $100 cash prize. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction, and food provided by Hursey Catering.
The team at Lehman’s Big Open Road is a standing part of the Ride for Pride. Their commitment to the Nespa fund is known as is their affinity for bikes and bikers by way of the many motorcycle rides they support. Should you join in on this one, be sure to arrive at Lehman’s with time to explore the store. With an impressive display of Harley Davidson accessories and riding gear by Fulmer, Vega, Icon Motorsport, Schampa, and Ridge, you’ll see why Lehman’s is the best place to buy motorcycle gear.
You’ll also see that Lehman’s Big Open Road is the best place in Northeast Ohio to show your respect for Cpl Keith Nespa, R.A.W., and our armed forces. Your participation in the 5th Annual Ride for Pride costs $15, and all proceeds will be donated to the Nespa scholarship fund and R.A.W. You can also give a donation during the pancake breakfast before the motorcycle ride and poker run begin.
