While there are many talented artists scattered across the globe, not all of them possess that certain quality that makes them stand out. That element that transforms a good painting into truly unique and imaginative artwork. However, Mariela Moode is one of those artists whose work has no problem attracting attention. While born in the Dominican Republic, Moode has done her fair share of traveling the world in order to display her bold and vibrant paintings to the public. With past shows in Korea, Cuba, New York City, Santo Domingo, and a number of other locations, this world-renowned expressive painter has certainly made a name for herself within the arts community. And while Moode may currently reside in Ohio, the popularity of her creative and symbolic pieces reaches far beyond this region.
Having started her artistic journey by drawing in her school notebook as a young student in the Dominican Republic, Mariela Moode has spent years developing her own individual style. Mariela believes art is passion and as her work is conceptual, she says if you want a detailed image then take a picture. Mariela was the only woman chosen to study and work with a group of top male artists in her home country. After attending the National School of Fine Arts and experimenting with other art forms besides painting, Moode relocated to the United States in order to continue her studies in Visual Arts. Since then, Moode has had several opportunities to study the works of famous artists during her travels, as well as display her own unique and imaginative artwork to the public.
With previous shows in Korea, Cuba, New York, Ohio, Santo Domingo, and various locations throughout the world, Mariela Moode has been able to display her creative and symbolic pieces to art lovers of all kinds. No matter what experience you may have with art, Moode’s bold and vibrant paintings will take your breath away and give you the opportunity to view life through the artist’s eyes. Mariela is featured in the October issue of The Artist Showcase magazine and her painting, The Conductor, graces the cover.
When it comes to inspiration, Moode doesn’t look in just one place. In fact, she finds ideas in a variety of places—some of which you wouldn’t expect. Moode has stated that she looks to beauty, truth, sorrow, anxiety, the concept of forever, death, politics and god in order to discover her path and true meaning in life. And it’s safe to say that the work of this world-renowned expressive painter has had a profound effect on those who examine it. Moode’s paintings evolve symbolically from chaos to order—which comes naturally at times, while it is a painful process at others. Either way, Moode is able to project her thoughts and feelings of these concepts on canvas—giving herself and others the chance to take in something truly powerful.
Mariela Moode’s unique and imaginative artwork has inspired shock and awe from individuals in Korea, Cuba, New York, Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic, and all across the globe. Her bold and vibrant paintings carry that certain element that makes good artwork amazing, and we are very fortunate to have her as an Ohio resident.
