For years, Scott Talbot Salonspa has been providing individuals across Northeast Ohio and beyond with a variety of beauty services to help them feel good about themselves. However, Scott Talbot Salonspa wasn’t always known by the name they are today. Before this local hair salon and day spa was the company it is now, it was Gary’s Place.
Gary’s Place was first established by Gary Gerber in 1975 as a plant shop with two salon chairs. From those two chairs, Gary’s Place soon grew to have locations in Green, Canton, and Jackson Township where individuals could invest in a wide array of quality beauty services. In 1999, Gary’s Place was purchased by current owners Shelly and Jeff who first started with the company fresh out of beauty school.
After the purchase of Gary’s Place, these two beauty technicians and new company owners changed the salon’s name to Scott Talbot Salonspa. In November of 2007, the Jackson Township and Canton Gary’s Place locations were combined to create one of Scott Talbot Salonspa’s current locations at 4080 Fulton Drive in Canton, Ohio. Today, this hair salon and day spa continues to thrive with two separate locations in the Northeast Ohio region.
What has allowed this company to stand the test of time is their dedication to providing quality services to their customers. In order to do this, Scott Talbot Salonspa goes a step beyond most other hair salons by offering an apprenticeship at their studio for beauty technicians that are fresh out of school or don’t have a lot of work experience. Through this six to nine month program, these new technicians will work with educators, participate in training courses, and become further educated in their business before working the floor. Those with experience in the industry are put through a short two-week training program to help them acclimate to the Scott Talbot Salonspa environment. For this reason and many others, they’ve actually been selected as one of Salon Today’s Top 200 salons in the USA in 2012 for Advanced Education.
By helping their staff become more educated in their field, Scott Talbot Salonspa is able to maintain quality beauty services and customer services for everyone that visits one of their locations. Perhaps this is why individuals from Cleveland to New Philadelphia choose to visit this local hair salon and day spa over others. One anonymous customer had this to say:

They’ve also made Fox 8’s Hot List for Best Day Spa in 2012!
